Kentucky isn't horsing around; they mean business when it comes to hosting this fall's World Equestrian Games, an event that is estimated to bring 600,000 visitors and an economic impact of $150 million to the area. |

For a fortnight (or two weeks) this Fall, Lexington and The Bluegrass will host The World Equestrian Games, the largest event ever held in this region. Over 600,000 people from 60 countries around the world are expected to attend. World Championships for eight equestrian disciplines will be decided at the Kentucky Horse Park in the competition's first foray outside Europe.

High School Art Competition Creations Celebrating the Arabian Horse on Display
LEXINGTON, KY(July 21, 2010) What happens when you combine talented high school art students with horses and an international blockbuster museum exhibition? Desert Treasures -- a high school art competition created to celebrate the Arabian horse while promoting The Museum's Exhibit, A Gift From the Desert: The Art, History and Culture of the Arabian Horse, at the Kentucky Horse Park's International Museum of the Horse.

They say "April Showers Bring May Flowers." But the April showers we're experiencing in Lexington this month will also bring May flowers on canvas, tile and paper; flowers made of blown glass, ceramic, copper and clay; flowers transformed into jewelry. All will be showcased May 7th through July 31st at Artique in Lexington Mall, with a Public Reception on Friday, May 7th from 5:30 - 9 PM and again on Saturday, May 8th from 11 AM to 9 PM.

Artique at Lexington Green has just opened a stunning art exhibit, celebrating an extraordinary island to which many Lexingtonians including Artique owners Mike and Kathy Stutland feel deeply connected. Titled "Common Threads and Changing Tides," the exhibit's art was inspired by Cumberland Island.
